For people who never litter and pick up after those who do, we know that the environment is a sacred temple that they are trying to preserve. Printing companies know this too and that is why they recommend solid ink instead of toner for these people and individuals. Solid ink has zero waste product and is toxic free. For people who want to minimize their carbon footprint, ink sticks are the better buy when it comes to deciding what printing products to use for daily or sporadic printer use.
When compared to its toxic toner counterpart, solid is the better choice that produces zero waste product and is safe for the whole family. That way if a dog or family pet accidentally licks up the ink and swallows it there is nothing to worry about, whereas if any one were to accidentally ingest toner, there could be a major problem and result in someone getting perhaps very sick because of it.
Ink sticks also look better than toner does, as some may claim, comparing it to Play Dough or clay. It is colorful like the rainbow, where toner is just a dull powder like material that is not fun to look at because if you can see it, it means that it needs to be cleaned up.
Toner is usually stuck inside of the cartridge and is released into the printer from the inside when it is working, but no one ever sees it. People need to change the cartridges when the toner is out, as compared to the ink stick which can just have more added to it no matter its state, whether it is out or half full still. This is convenient when it comes to important printing jobs that need to get done because anyone can make sure that his or her printer is full of ink and then that he or she does not have to worry about running out of ink mid print job.
